Why Individuality Matters in the Rise of Staycations

2020 has seen a dramatic rise in the demand for staycations and it looks like it isn’t stopping any time soon.

Canopy and Stars says it has taken more bookings for August 2021 than for August 2020. Holidaymakers are booking a year in advance to secure the best UK staycations.

But what makes the best sites different and stand out from the rest of the crowd?

As our Innovations and Design Director, Jason Thawley, has quoted in a recent article by Holiday Park scene:

“The key tenet here is individuality, no matter what the structure may be, guests are looking for an experience. A unique structure in a nice location is always a winner, though it is all in the detail and creating a space where guests feel they have arrived in a niche little world of their own”

Glamping structures have evolved over the years to becoming truly luxurious spaces for guests to escape to and reconnect with nature. Now is a great time to create the perfect site for the ideal getaway experiences for guests while making the most of the staycation boom.

So what makes our designs at Tree Tents stand out from the crowd for both site owners and guests and how do they create unique experiences?

Uniqueness.

Standing out is key to creating an individual site for guests to want to come visit and all our structures are so different to everything else out there!

The Tree Tent, Fuselage and Okra are all unique in their own right and can also be customised so each design is bespoke in its own special way. Standing out is key for a new business, particularly as glamping structures are popping up everywhere. Our designs have a big impact on guests and not on the environment. Below will also demonstrate how our structures at Tree Tents are unique.

Eco-friendly.

There is nothing quite like the power of the outdoors. We are passionate about building spaces that create authentic experiences in nature and enabling outdoor adventures without harming it. We also want guests of our structures to experience the woodland and forests as they are meant to be – a thriving environment for nature and wildlife...The woodland dictates how we utilise it and how we adapt to it. Moreover, the structures don’t disturb the woodland floor, allowing ecosystems to continue to exist below. We also source local and sustainable materials for all of our structures.

Adaptable with land.

Our structures are designed to make the most of and adapt with remote and unused land.

The Fuselage is designed to adapt to challenging terrain allowing you to maximise areas of woodland, sloping sites or the water’s edge. It is designed to either be mounted to stilts or be suspended by trees. The flat pack design of The Okra incorporates parts that are easy to carry and can be self assembled without heavy machinery on-site or large foundations. The Okra is perfect for those hard to reach, uneven or heavily wooded spaces. Lastly, the Tree Tent just needs trees and makes the most of unused woodlands which creates a destination in a very special location!

Planning permission… Easy!

We make free standing structures which can be relocated. We help our clients to secure planning permission where it is needed, making the process as straightforward as possible.

Simple install.

The design of our structures means that we cause very little disruption to our installation site. The lightweight parts of the structures can be carried into the site on foot with no requirements for heavy machinery or cranes and it generally only takes a few days to assemble our structures on site. The use of module design means sections can be replaced at minimal cost and disruption if damage does occur.

For every season.

Our structures don’t just have to be used for the summer glamping season, their design and added extras mean you can run your site all year round. There is something really special about snuggling up to a wood burning stove and enjoying the comforts of a winter getaway.

For the Fuselage we use a triple-layer insulated skin system that will keep the elements out along with a wood stove and low-voltage radiant heating options. We also have a well insulated SIPs system for The Okra to keep the elements out, as well as a thick, high-performing insulation. Lastly, the Tree Tent has superior waterproofing technology, premium quality materials, space age insulation and customised features. All our structures will ensure guests stay warm and toasty in even the worst weather.

Lastly, why not be more unique by offering a space with special extras like a hot tub, outdoor cooking or even the magic of a simple hammock. Add things to create a truly wonderful and cosy experience for yourself and guests to enjoy.

Like Jason says: “Even simple things such as a hammock in a shady spot under a tree, a fire pit with comfortable seating to sit back and enjoy the stars in the evening and well-placed lighting to make things feel cosy.”

At Tree Tents we love creating spaces that are as unique as their owners. That’s why we make our structures bespoke allowing you to pick and choose from a range of different colours, furnishings and materials. This, along with your personal touches and beautiful location, makes each site individual and stand out from the crowd in the staycation boom.
