Once the home of Maria Marten – victim of one of the 19th century’s most infamous murders – the thatched cottage sits amongst 10 acres of organic smallholding on the edge of the village of Polstead in Suffolk. Once a fully self-sufficient smallholding the site now exists as a gorgeous small campsite along with some interesting shelters – one of which being one of our TREE TENTS!
Dylan Pym – a master furniture maker runs the site alongside his family and workshop where you can relax and watch some of Dylans creations take shape. He’ll even teach you how to make your own bow and arrow! Dylan is also responsible for the superb steambent ash that makes up the frame of the Tree Tent – what Dylan doesn’t know about trees and wood isn’t really worth knowing!
Lovely country walks surround along with a great pub – The Cock Inn – 5minutes walk from the camp. We’re currently getting this one ready for the 2015 season – more information on the site and how to book coming soon!
